Kang Takeover: Strengthening Communities Through Education

The First Capital Bank CBD team made a meaningful impact on the Kang community during their visit to Motaung Junior Secondary School. This initiative focused on fostering sustainability and enhancing the school environment to better support students and staff.

As part of the effort, the team refurbished the school’s chicken coop, transforming it into a functional and sustainable resource for poultry farming. To address ongoing water challenges, they donated two JoJo tanks, providing a practical solution to the school’s needs. Additionally, they supplied essential toiletries to ensure students have access to basic hygiene products.

A significant contribution was made with the donation of 40 layer chickens and three months’ worth of feed, empowering the school to work towards self-sufficiency by generating income through egg sales. This initiative not only supports the school financially but also serves as an educational opportunity for students to learn about sustainable farming practices.

The visit concluded with the planting of two Unity Trees, a symbolic gesture reflecting the strength and impact of community collaboration in education. The First Capital Bank CBD team’s efforts exemplify the belief that it truly takes a village to nurture and empower the next generation.
