Learn MoreIn a continuous effort to promote women’s health and raise awareness about the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer, First Capital Bank is proud to announce a contribution of P100,000 to Village Imaging. This year’s donation will once again provide life-saving mammograms to women across Botswana.
This follows a contribution of the same amount in 2022, which allowed mammograms to be carried through to into 2023. Thanks to this sponsorship, Village Imaging successfully conducted 113 mammograms in crucial locations such as Francistown, Jwaneng, Gaborone, Mochudi, and Molepolole.
Amongst these women who were screened, 12% were found to most likely have cancerous cells and as a result of the screenings they were able to seek a prompt assistance. This year’s contribution underscores the bank’s commitment to enhancing healthcare access and promoting early cancer detection. By sponsoring this important event, the bank not only helps to raise awareness about breast cancer but also plays a pivotal role in saving lives within the community. The ongoing efforts demonstrate a sustainable approach to addressing health challenges, fostering hope and well-being for women and families across the region.
In addition to this contribution, First Capital Bank also participated as a Platinum Sponsor of the recently concluded Pink Run for Breast Cancer Awareness, organised by Village Imaging, donating an additional P25,000 in support of this important cause. The run, as finalised on Saturday, 26th October 2024, raised funds to provide critical health services including mammograms.

Village Imaging’s mobile mammogram unit, will once again be deployed to communities throughout the country. This initiative aims to remove barriers to healthcare and bring essential screening services directly to the people who need them.
